A talk delivered by Patten in Boston on 7/4/1970 outlining the evidence for global catastrophes of planetary origin, specifically the Biblical flood of Noah which he attributes to a close flyby by another planetary body. At the time of this talk he considered Mercury and Mars to be the best candidates, though he later concluded that Mars was in fact the body involved, and that it was previously (from about 10,000 B.C. to ~7800 B.C.) in a highly elliptical orbit in exact 2:1 resonance with Earth's orbit and nerarly intersecting Earth's orbit at two points.
