Torrent description

SLAX is fast and beautiful Linux operating
system which fits on small (3.14") CD-ROM
disc. It runs directly from the CD (or USB)
without installing. The Live CD described
here is based on the Slackware Linux
distribution and uses Unification File System
(also known as unionfs), allowing read-only
filesystem to behave as a writable one, saving all
changes to memory.





What's new?
For v 5.1.5 SLAX (all editions) (20th of May 2006)

- added noload cheatcode, to disable loading specified slax modules
(even those from /base/ and /modules)
- added ramsize= cheatcode, to specify how much RAM is used to store changes
(defaults to ramsize=60%)
- added make_disk.sh script to SLAX CD, to create bootable SLAX disk
(eg. install SLAX to USB device)
- added different size of boot (splash) image to be more compatible with
other screen resolutions, tested with 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768, 1280x1024.
Please note that SLAX doesn't need bootsplash patches to show image during
boot, it needs just /usr/src/linux/drivers/video/logo/logo_linux_clut224.ppm
- don't start dhcpcd at background (prevent annoying messages at login prompt)
- unmute VIDEO and CD sound chanels (set volume to 77%)
- set kPlayer to use arts
- fixed popcorn missing libraries
