| RISC OS 6 Select 5i2 is a more- up-to-date version of RISC OS that |
| can be softloaded over earlier copies (RISC OS 4.02 and above). |
| Some caveats may apply (see below, and the readme files on the CD. |
| |
| Users who already have Select 4i2 (RISC OS 6.06) or Select 4i4 |
| (RISC OS 6.10) installed should use the contents of the |
| \'UpgradeRO6\' directory to upgrade to Select 5i1. Users running |
| these versions of RISC OS 6 MUST NOT use the full RISC OS Six |
| installer supplied in the \'NewUsers\' directory. To install and |
| use the upgrade you MUST already have Select 5i1 (RISC OS 6.14) |
| installed and running on your computer (included in this release). |
| Do not attempt to use this ROM if you are using any other version |
| of RISC OS. |

| Note that RISC OS 6 needs to be installed to a drive that has long |
| filename support enabled. |

| Users who already have Select 4i2 (RISC OS 6.06) or Select 4i4 |
| (RISC OS 6.10) installed should use the contents of the |

| |
| This release of Select is NOT suitable for the following machines. |
| Attempts to install Select5i1 on these machines may cause them to |
| fail to boot correctly. |

| Upgrade from earlier versions of RISC OS |

| This release is ONLY suitable for the upgrade of an existing |
| stand-alone ROM based RISC OS 4 or RISC OS Adjust (4.39) install. |
| Please ensure that you have booted from the hard disk that is to |
| be upgraded and not, for example, from another machine via a |
| network. Do not attempt to install RISC OS 6 on a machine running |
| a \'soft loaded\' version of RISC OS 4.02. |
