This concert was recorded in December 1966 by George Adins, a Belgian blues fan, at Silvio's Lounge on West lake Street in Chicago, one of the West Side clubs that was home to Howlin' Wolf and where a lot of up-and-coming blues acts got started, including Magic Sam.

This tape was originally released as "Magic Touch" vinyl LP on Black Magic Records (a Netherlands label) and subsequently be re-released on CD in the US on the Black Top label [BT-1085]. Bob Koester of Delmark Records filed suit and had the CD version withdrawn, as he had (and has) exclusive rights to all Magic Sam recordings. The LP version was a B+ in terms of sound quality, while the CD version was remastered and warrants an A- for sound quality. Please bear in mind that this was an amateur field recording made by a fan in 1966.
